I entered the store and came face to face with Mr. Amore. He was adjusting shirt samples in a book as I walked in. He greeted me and asked me what he could do for me. I told him that I needed measurements for a suit. He began asking me detailed questions, which I was unable to answer due to my lack of experience in wearing suits. I am a 20 year old university student, who was looking to purchase a suit to wear for an upcoming interview for medical school.



Mr. Amore soon realized that I didn't have any knowledge regarding suits, and immediately lost all respect for me. As I was attempting to answer him, he cut me off in the middle of my sentence and said, "Hold on, I'll be with you in a second." To my surprise, I was put aside for him to finish arranging the shirt samples in his book.



He then brought me toward the back of the store and began asking me more questions. "Who sent you hear?" The question was filled with condescension, implying that I was clearly not worthy of being in his store. I was immediately insulted by his question not only because of the basis for asking it, but also because he asked it in a tone that one uses when they would speak to a child.



Mr. Amore made the measurements, and told ME to write them down. He then gave me some vague information that he was going to be out for a period of time in August. I tried to get a deadline from him as to when I should bring the suit in in order to have it ready for my interview, and he replied with some smug comment, only to repeat his vague statement again.



Mr. Amore is incredibly disrespectful to his customers, treating them as though they are projecting a great inconvenience toward him by having him tailor their clothing. Instead of teaching me how to look my best for this upcoming interview, Mr. Amore made me feel extremely uncomfortable in his store, leaving me insulted. Unfortunately Albany does not have many tailors, but I would recommend going anywhere but to Amore Clothing.
