This is the place we take friends and relatives from out of town. Nothing says TEXAS like a taste of Babe's southern comfort: fried chicken and awesome homemade sides. I won't say whats already been said, except for these two things:1. their gravy is TDF2. I love that it is byob. You know you are in Texas when a big family brings a huge cooler of Lone Star beer in with them to enjoy during their meal.

If you're on a diet, this is not the place for you!! ;)Absolutely YUMMY fried chicken and tender chicken fried steak - served fresh and piping hot. If you've never tried it, make it a point to go! All you have to do is 'choose your protein' (options vary by location), and leave the rest up to them. You'll get salad, mashed potatoes, butter with corn in it (seriously!!), cream gravy and biscuits (other sides also vary by location). Then, after you've stuffed yourself full of homemade goodness, they have the nerve to come over and ask if you've left room for dessert..!!! ;)OF COURSE you'll find room for the banana pudding or the lemon meringue pie!! A memorable experience, especially if you have guests from out of town... But don't wait for them - GO NOW!

Awesome food, no matter what you order it is all delicious! The lemon pie is very tasty. Need to open one up in McKinney/Allen area ASAP

The food was excellent and plentiful. The service was excellent and the server very friendly and helpful. Family style serving. Relaxing and fun. Be prepared for an above average noise level - but be aware that the placed is always crowded. The noise was NOT annoying.

The best chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes anywhere

We were seated as soon as we came in. The waitress took our orders then brought the vegetables. We waited for over a half hour for the chicken. When the chicken finally arrived, it looked delicious but after one bite we could taste an overwhelming burnt taste. We believe they burnt the first batch of chicken and proceeded to cook the second batch without changing the oil. By cooking the second batch in bad oil, we received chicken that tasted awful. It was too late to wait for more. When talking to PTA friends, they told similar experiences... none good. There was no apology for the wait and no compensation for burnt tasting chicken. Mistakes happen but they usually come with an apology. We won't go there again. Oh yes, be prepared to be deaf from the loud music they play.
