Located in Nashville, Tenn., the Forensic Services Division-Nashville Crime Laboratory serves more than 90 counties in Tennessee. It conducts a range of analyses in the drug chemistry, evidence receiving, latent print examination and firearms identification units. The Forensic Services Division s also operates various laboratories that maintain microanalysis unit that conducts fire debris, gunshot residue kit and paint analysis and physical, tape, glass and fiber comparisons. Its toxicology unit conducts analysis of blood and body fluids for alcohol, drug and poison that assist medical examiners in death investigations. The Forensic Services Division additionally has a breath alcohol unit that administers breath alcohol testing and provides calibration of instruments and training of local law enforcement personnel in the operation of the instruments.
