Of course u go in and see the midwife while in labor right?! Well we did and I requested prior a water birth in the tub prior. She had the nerve to say no... That it wasnt happening. But it was first thing in the morning and she just had the worst attitude. Something that was already stressing me out more and more while I was there.. And if anyone who has had a baby prior will tell u.. Stress makes labor worse and much more painful.. But anything I requested she shot down ..She DID NOT CARE AT ALL!! My husband and I never once gave anyone at DePaul any reason to feel a need not to care or to treat us so poorly. We always went out of our way to give each and every person involved in our visits the utmost respect!!
During my delivery my husband confronted her just asking what was wrong and why I couldn't do what I requested. She simply said "because I said no that's why" and turned her back on him .And ME .Might I remind I the one she was supposed to be there for.. We were apauled and sickened by her actions.. She should not be in this profession at all.
Please if u are thinking about DePaul.. Please please do research please.. They actually mock a lot of women and their husbands in the classes after they have given birth.. More of a "what not to do" attitude.. Very unprofessional. I got my "support" three minutes before I gave birth to my beautiful little boy.. Whom this momma has given birth before. So I know a little bit of what I am doing.. I was trying to squat to deliver and she literally pulled me back.. Which disrupted him birthing.She then proceeded to pull me up on the side of the tub and pulled on my babies head. That is not supposed to happen.. Thank the Lord I knew better to push and what to do..man I think about it again and it just sickens me how much she just was in a hurry. My baby could have been injured.. Or me. she also pulled on my placenta and jetted out of the room after. The nurses also were stricken by how she treated us..
