Provided by DexKnowsIf you want to pay an arm and a leg for a meal, you might like this place. But I can think of places where the food is just as good and nearly half what this place charges. Good grief a cup of coffee will set you back over 3.00!

Provided by DexKnowsThis place is a Portland ICON. The prices are high and the wait is terrible but that doesn't stop anyone. People are willing to stand in line and pay such high prices because they know the quality is beyond terrific. ######Try it I promise you won't be dissappointed.

Provided by DexKnowsI enjoy this pancake house and always have the German Pancake.

Provided by DexKnowsMy mouth waters just thinking about the Dutch Baby or the Apple Pancake. This place has been a favorite of mine for years. The coffee is better here than at any coffee shop I've ever been to and the service is great. Plan on a long wait if you don't get there early, especially on weekends. And be sure to check the hours of operation. But believe me- it's worth the wait! I only wish they were open 7 days a week and stayed open for dinner.

Provided by DexKnowsSend one person ahead or you will be frustrated with the wait. Loud and crowded, good food. Been around a long time.

Provided by DexKnowsAnother Portland mainstay--waiting for your table is part of the tradition. The food is absolutely the best for breakfast. Be sure to try the German Pancake at least once in your life!

Provided by DexKnowsThis is the original and it feels like 1957 rather than 2007.. food was great but we forgot that you must pay by cash or check and had to scramble for the money for the bill.... there is a big puffed up thing with lemon and butter that is to die for... just bring cash.

Provided by DexKnowsBest way to handle this place is to go in, leave your name & ask how long the wait is. Then go do some errands & come back & you won't waiot so long. Believe me, the wait is worth it - generous portions and unique food!

Provided by DexKnowsGREAT Breakfast place. Their dutch babies and mushroom omelettes are FANTASTIC. Great place to go on a Sunday, but bring the newspaper and something for the kids because you'll be waiting a awhile.

Provided by DexKnowsBe prepared to wait, especially if it is a weekend, but it is worth it. You will never find a fluffier omelette...I didn't even know that type of a texture was possible! Truly worth the wait!

Provided by DexKnowsI am not for standing around 45 minutes or more for a table and then have to share it with another party. Very crowded on the weekends. Very good food

Provided by DexKnowsThis place rocks! Seriously the best breakfast around. They buy the best ingredients and they know how to make everything A plus. Bring the Sunday paper, because they don't take reservations and it's limited seating. Fantastic wait staff, meticulously clean, and generous portions.

Provided by DexKnowsThis restaurant has been a favorite of my family since 1968. It has an amazing and consistent menu showcasing fresh seasonal fruit. The portions are huge, so go with a big appetite. Favorites not to be missed are the mushroom omelet, apple pancake, dutch baby pancake, and continental crepes! The atmosphere is crowded and noisy, but the decor is charming and homey. Be prepared to wait up to 1 hour for a table on the weekends. I always go early and get a number before my family arrives in order to shorten our wait. It can be very difficult to seat large parties, small groups work best. Or go after the breakfast crowd when it is quieter and easier to be seated. They are open from 7-3pm Wednesday through Sunday.
