My son received a hair infection from the stylist using a dirty straight razor. The infection was so bad he required an oral antibiotic and cream to apply to the area. The doctor was very concern about the cleanliness of razor. The infection festered then turned into hard puss. Horrible!!! This happen on July 25, 2014 and as of August 7, 2014 it still looks bad.

Not very professional, people was going and coming out of the salon, I was not impressed with the services rendered, I'm sure I will not be going back to Erlina's to get a blow out

So Rude!

I just left Erlina's on New Bern Ave, and I will NEVER go back again! I walked in at 6pm. There was one woman currently styling someone's hair. She greeted me & I asked if there was time to do a blowout. She asked me to wait until another stylist came back in the salon and she would ask her if she would do the service. When the other stylist came in & was asked, she came back to me and said rudely "come back tomorrow, we're closed". That's crazy because the door says they're open from M-F 9am-9pm & walk-ins are welcome. I just walked out without sayin a word. I have been to Erlina's on Craftsman Dr & had an amazing experience so I figured this location would be just as great. But I was sadly mistaken & will never go back to the New Bern Ave one again.

this is by far the WORST salon...

this is by far the WORST salon experience ive ever had in my 27 years on earth. the ladies were extremely rude and know nothing about black hair. i literally left the store looking worse than i did when i entered and with less hair. when i complained about it, the lady told me to pay my $ and get out. i handed over a credit card (they only take cash. i guess its to hide paper trails of jobs done horribly) when i went to the ATM to pay them, they followed me outside and took down my license plate #. i'm still trying to find a way to sue these ignorant bastards. left the store in complete shock.

I went to the Erlinas shop on craftsman drive. As soon as I walked in i was already in the shampoo chair without having to wait and i really liked that. When it was over my hair which is african american natural kinky was then brushed very harshly instead of taking the time to section through it. So much hair came out. Then I was burned several times from the dryer and the flat iron cause my stylist was always surrounded by people talking to her and laughing and joking and on top of that on her cell phone. I was scorched to death. I admitt my hair was very soft and beautiful but my head ears and neck were so burnt that it took away from the beauty of my hair. I dont think i will ever go back.

I had to write this review especially after seeing the one listed; I have been to Erlinas off New Bern Ave several times and have been greeted with excellent customer service. I am a Dominican women who has the beautiful complexsion of a African godess so I can usually blend very well. I have been going to Dominican hair stylists all my life, I know when my people are performing at their best and when they are not. The stylists at Erlinas off New Bern Ave. always provide me with great service, they are professional and always give me this vibe that they are happy to be there. What I like the most is that I have never heard any of the stylist talk negative about any customer or that they dont wish to be there as I had in others (speak in their native language). At this Erlinas off New Bern there are two stylist that are bilingual in English and Spanish; the times that I have been to the salon they have been present. I say give them another try!!!

I live in Goldsboro, I went to Erlinas, Raleigh on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 for the 1st time. I asked for a Dominican Blowout with the Keratine treatment. I have short African American hair at my neckline. I paid $150.00 cash and my hair was straightened and soft. The stylist said come back in 3 days to wash it out. I returned on Saturday March 20, 2010. They washed my hair and did the same thing as before roll it, hair dryer, blow out. The stylist said you have no money? I told the stylist I paid the $150 already. The stylist then said okay come back in 4 days? I speak very little spanish and admit I am confused. Is my hair treatment done? What do I owe more money for and when I go back Tuesday what is the service for and will they want more money? My hair feels great but How many times must I drive back to Raleigh before the service is done.?
